Why is it that whenever the iTunes Music Store is mentioned in the press it still has 200,000 songs in it's library?? I get the New music Tuesday emails from Apple every week, and it seems to me that Apple is adding music continuously, sure, I understand that some music may be removed as well, but I don't think the music is removed at the same rate as adding.

I've been reading info on Napster 2.0, and it's 500,000 song library and how it's larger than iTunes 200,000 song collection and I think to myself, iTunes has got to have more than 200,000 by now.

The media might just be going to Apple's iTunes Music Store page, which still lists 200,000.

I thought this was pretty good news, too. First of the independents. I broke my embargo (Matador's not RIAA afilliated) and bought Guided by Voices as soon as I saw it.
