This is just a rant on Adobe and it's ever growing endorsement of Microsoft crap.

I hate the fact the Help in all the CS apps feature Windows screenshots. I can't stand the the look of XP and there it is in all it's shittyness in Adobe's Help.

Come on Adobe mix it up a little and mix in Mac screenshots, at least pretend to still care about your Mac using customers.

Like I said this is just a rant that may not even bother me tomorrow, but right now it does.

It's all about the details.

Yeah, I hate it when any software company that makes software for both platforms does that. I hate it even more when the Help tells you how to do something, but only how to do it on a Windows machine (if it differs from Mac OS). That really burns my toast!

For "creative" people, you would think they would have both, but who knows... it's probably a bunch of people in India doing it anyway...

Adobe just isn't what it used to be.

I like CS - it is Adobe's best effort since the mid 90s. Some things have changed in them, they've become corporate and they've embraced Windows. Eech.
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

Like most corporations... Once they become "a brand" and not just a software company... things change...

When PDF came out, I hated it... slow and buggy. It's now to the point where it's almost near what it originally set out to be.

If I only had one OS to design on, it would probably have to be Quark 4.1, Photoshop 5 and Illustrator 8. All three were a rock if configured correctly.

I still feel they are solid, but in my opinion, they feel somewhat buggy...

We should create an unofficial Mac version of the help, and replace all the windows images with mac version images. That would be a fun project. Sort of like, I fought the law, and I won, but not really.

The question is: who is willing to go through and make screen shots of all these dialogs? I don't even have Adobe CS yet, though hopefully soon.

C'mon.

Us mac users don't need any stinking Help menu, and Adobe knows it!

Hehe.. I like this idea! I don't have CS yet either. But when I do, I'd be glad to help.

And -I- hate when people call it Creative Suite CS when "CS" stands for Creative Suite in itself.
Either way, I don't really mind, or notice, I'm not in help a lot.

It's like soneone saying "I'm going to the ATM machine." ATM stands for Automatic Teller Machine. It should be "I'm going to the ATM" Blech...

Amen to that, it has always been a pet peeve of mine also.

Anywho, if you check out Adobe's official manuals, Adobe "insert product here" classroom in a book, there are more OS X screenshots than there are XP, so we definitely win on that one.

Other things that must burn you

The file is in PDF format...

There are scratches all over my DVD disk...

I like buying music at the iTMS store...

I just picked up my first LCD display...

I once would try to correct people, but gave up...

the training cd which came in my CS box is 100% mac, and the guy makes references to windoze users, so i get the impression that cd goes in both platforms' boxes.

Perhaps this is Adobe's way of saying that Mac users don't need help.

Do you type in your PIN number once you get to the ATM machine?

Adobe releases an app suite in which some apps that don't conform to Apple's HID guidelines (Illustrator and Dock and god knows WTF Adobe was thinking with printing in all CS apps), require a re-write of all plugins--again (Illustrator), still suck speedwise (PS, Illustrator--lower screen resolution redraws are lame) and cost an arm and a leg...

AND you're complaining about the screen shots in Help

?!#$%&* me unconscious.
