I was troubleshooting my "Voodoo Notepad Clipping Issue" when I happened to leave my Powerbook open (plugged-in, screen set to "dim" on sleep instead of turning off) with an empty extension set (all extensions disabled in EM).
My PowerBook G4 decided to go to sleep after a period of inactivity.
My goodness, the screen went absolutely nuts, producing some sort of interference or memory test with the video card or something! Colorful lines in both directions, moving contrast changes, it was completely wild, and it scared me sheetless thinking my Powerook was broken!
Doesn't appear to do any damage to the screen, but this is the scariest bug I've ever seen on a Mac.
Does anyone else have this effect? Am I tripping or what?

Oh dear.
My last experience like that set me back $750AUD.
Get your mobo looked at, specifically, the graphics chip, and analogue board.

No worries, as long as I don't let it sleep while extensions are disabled.
