Are any of these two working for anybody right now? I can't seem to get on them at all. Are they linked in some way? It's seems too much of a coincidence for them not to be.

My stupid iPhone game: Nesen Probe, it's rather old, annoying and pointless, but it's free.
Was free. Now it's gone. Never to be seen again.
Off to join its brother and sister apps that could not
keep up with the ever updating iOS. RIP Nesen Probe.

Flickr has always been a service of Yahoo I thought.

I've just tried these sites on another computer, and they load fine. This is strange. I was able to load these sites on this computer only days ago, but now, suddenly I can't.
What do these two sites have in common that could be preventing them from loading on my computer?
I have tried both Safari and Firefox, with no joy. Everything else seems to work fine.
Thanks!

I've just tried that now, with no joy. It really does seem strange. I'd understand if it was all internet access, but only these sites? I'm sure there will be others that won't work as well, but they must have something in common that makes my computer not be able to load them. All I get is a timed out connection.
Thanks,
onlyone-jc.

Okay, I've just tried accessing both of these sites via a proxy, and guess what, they work!
This seems very strange! Has my IP address possibly been blocked from accessing their servers? If so, why would this have happened?
Thank you,
onlyone-jc.

There was a similar thread a while back on another forum, where a member was unable to load Google. Although he later posted a “Google is back” thread, I don’t think he ever managed to pinpoint what it was that was screwy.

Okay, so it seems I'm in a similar situation.
I've tried connecting my Mac (MacBook Pro) directly to the router via Ethernet, and that works. I've tried the same directly to the modem, and that works.
Then, once I'm back on AirPort, my problem is present again. I've tried connecting to the same sites via a Powerbook on the same wireless network, and that can reach them just fine.
I've tried placing my ISP's DNS addresses in the network settings, and that doesn't solve it. I've also tried DNS addresses from OpenDNS | Providing A Safer And Faster DNS - they didn't solve it, either.
From reading that thread, I tried changing the MTU value on my Mac, via command: sudo ifconfig en1 mtu VALUE_HERE. I tried various different numbers, and that didn't work, either. Afterwards, I set it back to the default 1500. I also tried changing and matching the MTU value on my router with no luck.
If I ping yahoo.com, I get a return (although, it still won't load in a browser). But, if I ping www.yahoo.com, I get no return.
If I ping flickr.com or www.flickr.com, I get no return. If I ping its IP address (68.142.214.24), I still get no return.
Another site I've found I can't access, is: deviantART - If I ping deviantart.com, www.deviantart.com, or its IP (69.28.181.43), I get a return. But yet, still can't access it via a browser?
And, just to recap, I can access all of these websites fine through a proxy server.
Something's not making sense! Is there anything else I can try?
Is this a software issue? Or, a hardware issue?
Thanks,
onlyone-jc.

I don’t think it counts if he’s doing it on purpose, unfortunately...
onlyone: I fear you’ll have to hope for a similar solution to Navegador’s: a magical self-restoration of normality.

I've just downloaded a slightly newer version of the my router's firmware, flashed and installed it. I then reset it to factory settings, and re-configured it. Hey-presto! I'm a happy-chappy, once again!
Thanks,
onlyone-jc.
