Any expreiences to relate running Maya on the Mac Pro? I am hoping to take a 3D modeling class using Maya. I want to get a Mac Pro anyway, but wondering about performance. Would rather not buy / install windows if I can help it.

Thanks!

Maya comes as either a windoze/mac app as opposed to 3dStudio Max which is only windoze... As to whether Alias Maya is a binary app, you can look for yourself. Don't go that route if it isn't, as rosetta will kill any benefit of a new Macpro with a 3d app.

Maxon C4D came out with a unibin many months ago, and has a 64 bit version as well, but only for windoze [which is why it is a good thing to go Intel and bootcamp for growing into it] but that may be way beyond your needs now anyways... Just a thought.

Wrong forum, topics on applications belong in the … Applications forum. Closing …
