you better start saving... you will probably be able to get a dual 2.0 for the price of 4 tickets...
that being said, i just want them to go at least 6 games in the NLCS... just make sure to look for me on tv

Bah, my theory that there are only really a couple thousand genuine cubs fans in Chicago is still valid. The rest are a bunch of Transplants from Ohio and Iowa who don't know any better.
The fun part of next week will be that I get to be home for an wedding and get to watch the spirits of those poor bastards get crushed as they are eliminated.
We'll see how well that pitching staff can keep it up before they drop dead from exhaustion like an overworked farm horse.

You were wrong about the Atlanta series, Captain Oblivious, and you will be wrong about this one too. I thought the Cubs staff would drop dead from exhaustion against the Braves? Huh, looks like you were wrong again. Your theory of Atlanta's playoff experience giving them the edge really worked out, didn't it? You fool. GO CUBS!

That's for sure. You guys had more than enough offense to get things done, but your pitching really blew chunks.

That's nothing. I was a broken hearted five year old. And not only that, I was that cute little kid in Channel 2's late season Go Cubs! promotion.
If the Cubs had managed to make it into the World Series that year, that promotion would have been on the air longer and I would have gotten more exposure.

it just upset me that tony larussa wouldn't let walt jocketty trade JD Drew for pitching. and practically the next day Drew gets hurt and put on the DL for the rest of the season.
I was really hoping that LaRussa would say that he wasn't coming back, but alas, he confirmed that he will be in a redbird uniform next year so we're assured that he will over use Woody and Matty Mo in the first half and they will have nothing left for the stretch run.
oh well, go fish

LaRussa is your problem. but you need way more then just starting pitching, you need a pen worth something.

It's too bad you don't have a truly great manager like Dusty Baker.
Cubs in 6, by the way.

I like the marlins. They got a good lineup and their pitching is pretty solid...but the one thing I'm worried about is that the cubs can put prior+wood out there 3 or 4 times in a 7 game series and that gives you a good chances for winning 4 games.

Lots of good days in the month of October, eh?
It must suck to be a Braves fan. What is it, 12 straight division titles now, and only one World Series win?
As soon as the division series match-ups were set, I figured the Cubs had an excellent chance to advance.

injuries injuries injuries. I don't think it was La Russa's fault, Morris and Williams had some bad history with injuries and then who else do you have?

perhaps they will peter out, but I recall two guys by the name of schilling and johnson taking the d-backs all the way on their two man rotation. I thinl if they get to the WS, they have a good shot to win.
