The old MacNN Deals stuff has magically become AppleInsider deals stuff...and I'm getting ready to nuke my email subscription to that. The NN Deals were lame-ish most of the time, but the AI deals are only "deals" if you are generous with the definition of deal.

Apparently the redirects have been repaired, and Apple, Macintosh, iPod and iPhone news | MacNN loads fine for me a week later...

For me, dealnn .com = 404
deals.macnn .com = "offline for maintenance"
www.macnn .com = news
forums.macnn .com = goodness (but no snow)

Have yet to encounter a redirect.

Just happened again.

As an amusing aside, the most recent post in their lounge was about how the NN is dead.

I also had this happen - on my desktop rather than my iPad, where I typically surf. I refreshed the page to see if it was a fluke. Nope. I haven't rechecked it since midday, but it was a curious thing, especially in light of this discussion.

Apparently, MacNN forums are now hosted on the AI servers. That might explain it.

AI is hosted on the common 'NN web servers, which host all related sites. AI forums (recently?) moved back to the common servers too - they're no longer on Huddler.

I kicked this upstairs since it's happening today. Apparently we're breaking in another webserver, and the newest one is sometimes doing this. It's still being tinkered with to stop the problem - they were already aware of it.

Ah, thanks. I asked MW on Twitter if there was something that happened, and I see now it's fixed.

Whew.

I saw it yesterday as well. Was wondering if the forums were being migrated over to AI. Then after a hour or so it started working again.
