Once and for all, god damn it.

****ing "Crazy Frog" Axel F Jamba ad that shows up for this region (Germany) will start playing atrocious music at me the second I mouse over it.

Good bye to these forums until the piece of godawful **** is forcibly removed.

If he leaves until the ad is gone, how will he know until he comes back? And what if they are still there?

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

Sorry, f1000 - nothing personal.

I just find the Jamba advertising utterly insulting and incredibly annoying in a way that is long and far beyond funny, and having those ****ing bastard ads suddenly PLAY IT at me simply because my mouse was hovering above the banner after night of hay fever and light sleep just put me over the edge.

They're gone now, so all's well.

heh this reminds me of that AIM ad. It sat at the top of the buddy list, and if you moused over it, it opend a bunch of IE windows. You didnt have to click. I got SO freaking pisesd off at it, grr. You know what I did? (well other than switch to Mac and iChat..) I hacked the resource and deleted the ad. Never bugged me again. ResHacker rules!

...somehow I dont think the same solution is applicable here. I dont get any audio ads... the only ones I ever seem to get are the various Vonage ones and the Griffin iTrip one, neither of which are overly annoying.

On the bright side, they dont have those gay ads that are like "which is your favorite color?" "shoot the deer and win 500,000,000 dollars!" or "which one is Frodo?" and they have a pic of Frodo, Gollum, and Sauroman. Now those I despise....

I remember removing the ad from AIM myself too, easy with ResEdit....it still downloaded the ads, but it wouldn't show them, a great thing when you're <600x800. I switched fast to AIMM anyway, it used to be great, much more lightweight, AIM's crashing made people angry for some reason ("Why did you leave?").

Seriously, just block the ads. It makes life much easier. No javascript misuses, no audio banners, turn off flash or something. If you can use Firefox, get the flashblock and adblock extensions, and set javascript unable to do things like open new windows. I know sites don't like it since this is a revenue stream for them, but it's been abused horribly so I don't let anyone get away with it anymore. Nice to give MacNN the ad revenue, but they've used those flickering flashing "YOU'VE WON" banners, audio banners that start talking at you, IIRC they tried to get rid of them with some hiccups, but it's still going on...not a problem, kermit.macnn.com 127.0.0.1

Buck_naked: only do that if you want to become instant flamebait. I for one would take great pleasure in dealing with such a sig
