The round pegs in the square holes. I miss you. The Think Different page remains MIA though.

I can't remember where I read it, but someone pointed out that the Textedit icon has the text from that ad if you look at the 512x512 icon it is easily readable.

Funny that. Because those qualities are also what get you banned from internet forums.

I have an inkling that on my B-Day (Oct 22 ) we're going to suddenly see a major rebirth of the Think Different Campaign, although for the life of me I can't think why.

Is there something else super special happening on the 22nd that I'm not thinking of?
What, me worry?

I did not that this.

I wonder how Steve Jobs feels about employees who actually take the slogan to heart. They can't last more than a week, right?

Unusually subtle. I don't quite know how to respond.

That's pretty funny. I just realized the error of my ways... but yet, in a profound way, it still makes no sense.

No kidding, actually the hiring process even for retail is stupid. I was turned down for a job, and they asked me if I'd be interested in a different one, I said, "Yah I guess." I then wasn't called back for an interview, months later when I heard interviews were happening I emailed the recruiter back, and she said that my reply was "rude" and very "unprofessional." My jaw dropped. I have near encyclopedic knowledge of every Mac released since 97 (Ok actually the intel ones I haven't paid as much attention to slash I made friends... but still) with the Rogers dealer I work with my customers love me, I regularly sell iPhones to people who were looking for "the free phone." And so on and so forth... and I get told I'm unprofessional from the company who's reps wear blue jeans and tshirts, and who's CEO goes on stage in a turtle neck?

The whole experience prompted me to go back to school for graphic arts and make more money than I would have in Apple Retail...

That's pretty amusing. Apple wants obedient minions, not free thinkers.

lol on the "Yah I guess" (I can see that being said with a Kramer-esque smirk).

I think Salty missed a prime opportunity. Twice I've applied for a job, told I didn't get the job, but then offered a "different" job that they couldn't discuss with me. Turns out it was a higher paying, higher qualified position that hadn't been advertised yet (the previous person had just quit without notice.) I was overqualified for what they were offering, but they were impressed with my experience and knowledge.

I wouldn't be surprised if you went in for a retail position, and they were going to offer you a Genius or technician job. Saying, "yeah, I guess" isn't too enthusiastic.

There might be more opportunities for higher qualified positions right now. With Microsoft doing what they can to hire experienced Apple employees away to their Apple Store Clones. So this might be the time to check back.

Which means you make more than $10 an hour. Good luck with your church websites.
