It is not often that a billionaire dies and this guy ranked number 8 on the billionaires list before he died. I’m not going to make this post about the guy himself as I don’t know his life, but I’ll make it of his store.
I generally like IKEAs as they they a wide assortment of nice products arranged in a maze like manner, complete with many mini model homes inside. The maze pathway needed to traverse is unlike any store that you can visit and their products are generally high quality. I’ve never had an issue with any of the products bought from IKEAs. They are generally good looking also.
Only issue with the store is the food. I do not like IKEA food. People will rave about the meatballs, but I have absolutely no idea why. People have different tastes, yeah, yeah...

When I was last there over a decade ago they had a range from good stuff to hot garbage.
The meatballs are only good in comparison to other cafeteria meatballs.

What I like about Ikea is that when they have a product that is cheap to make but looks great and/or functions very well, they don't slap a massive price tag on it. Pretty much no-one else ever does that.

I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

Ikea has some pretty good stuff and some pretty crappy stuff, par for the retail course. In my experience with “assembly required” furniture they blow the competition out of the water in ease of instructions and sensible part layouts.

Comes from having what is probably the world's biggest cheapskate as an owner. He died of pneumonia, which he picked up from a fellow passenger when he was travelling recently.
He was flying coach.

That was my first gut reaction but I was unable to come up with anything funny.

RIP the guru of the dirt cheap landlords one-stop furnishing stop. The IKEA stuff in my daughters student room last year was so flimsy you couldn't even cough on it without knocking it over.
A few of IKEA's items are brilliant pieces of design and also of engineering. A lot of what they make is just cheap tat. The trick is spotting the difference I guess. The design ethos gets a bit bland after a while. A few IKEA pieces in a home is enough I think.

My favorite line from Queer Eye for the Straight Guy...
“Ikea has lots of great stuff. You just didn’t buy any of it.”
