My new Airtunes connection to my home stereo works great within iTunes. I want to play iPhoto slideshow audio through my home stereo too, but slideshow reverts to the built-in speakers in my G4 Powerbook and I cannot find a suitable preferences to reset it...
Any suggestions?

Yeah, stop trying to "fix" this, cuz that's the way it works. AirTunes streams iTunes only (as of right now).

iPhoto can't play music via Airport Express.

You could always make a playlist in iTunes for the music you want, start the playlist in iTunes direct to your Airport Express.

Then start the iPhoto slideshow, but turn off the music option.

It's not perfect, but you can at least do what you want.

The other option is to make a movie and then a DVD of the photos and play it back via your DVD player and HiFi, but that's a bit much to do if you don't need to do it a few times.

Looks like you will have to wait until MacWorld SF when iLife 05 is released.

Slick shoes?! Are you crazy?!

Apparently AirTunes is encrypted in some way such that not just anything can output to it. DVD Jon recently cracked that encryption, so you may see AirTunes support in things like VLC, but it's not going to happen in iPhoto unless Apple wants it to.

As iLife is supposed to be integrated, I suspect you will see this in a new update to iPhots and possible iDVD.

Maybe iLife '05

It would be just the same to get an audio cable for your powerbook headphone cable to the RCA connection on your stereo. It may not allow you to carry it around, but how far do you want to go? its not like you can hear it from every room in the house.
