The Canadian store was down earlier. It's back on, but I can't check my (panther) order status...I wonder what that means...

I was able to bring up the Store, but it will not let me log in to check my recent order. I keep receiving a back server error message.

Well what do you know, I checked my email and my panther order is shipped! Maybe we can't check our order status because apple is busy updating everyone's account.

The most inresting thing is the radar is *NOT* clear, it could simply go up without interuption.. I just don't see that happening.

unclear radar means it's just as likely something could happen as if something not to.

Reasoning: ibook line, while premature for an update, is in good need of one. It's officially 2 generations behind the curve and behind the slowest powerbook by far.

Day of week: Wednesday <-- but itunes for windows came out on a thursday... reasoning cancels out.

imac speeds: 1.0ghz minimum, 1.25 tops, ibook = up to 900mhz, powerbook 1.0 to 1.33, powermac 1.6 to 2.0

I'd think it's high time.. could be something easier... and this is a bit of a surprise if anything.. you'd think there'd be more hype?

To add, g5 powerbooks, while not around the corner, are on the horizon, if NOT down the street. A g4 ibook would pave the way

Then again as pointed out by vmarks.. ibm can get the G3 as high as 1.2ghz right now and 2ghz in the future.. hrmmm marketing or numbers?

As much as I love updates to hardware, I have been having the "backend server not responding" message when I try to view my panther order for the past 2 days. Others on the OS x forum have had this message as well. Maybe they are having technical issues??

Or maybe we'll finally get a video ipod!!!!!!!!!

Wow. And the main site is not yet updated. [Edit: it is now.]

I'm really surprised actually... but I s'pose Apple had admitted that the 12" PB was cannibalising iBook sales.

Wonder if that means the G5 PB is closer than we think?

I'm curious about the radeon 9200 though. I wonder what kind of performance we'll see out of that card. That low end ibook looks like a sweet deal for a newbie friend of mine...still 640 max ram though...
