Hi all,

I've been using dock extender for about 3 years and has made my life so much easier, instead of having a dock with 1000 icons in it, I only have 5 which give me access to about 400 apps. Problem is, DockExtender is outdated, a bit buggy and heavy on mem. Anyone know of a good alternative?

Thanks,
Pix

Ever tried Quicksilver? Launch any app in about a second.

If you are using Tiger, try Spotlight. I just type in the first few letters of an app or document, and it's there and I can launch it

Hi guys,

I'm having a look at QS atm. I dunno why but for some reason I tend to like having a dock with icons and so on, rather then just having an input menu...

Try dockLauncher. I don't use it regularly anymore, but it's a nice app that gives you a customizable app menu.

If you want a highly customizable dock, I also recommend DragThing.

if you like having a physical dock with icons in it, then nbn hit the target... DragThing is the king of Dock apps. Lots of options, including multiple docks, slide-out (drawer style) docks, etc...

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. I'm having a look at various things. 'tis very interesting, every app seems to have it's own pro's and cons... hehe, someone should come up with an app that has all the pros and none of the cons... wait... we have the finder ;P

Try Butler ... it's free and has a docklet feature.
