I guess they don't appreciate the US freedom of speech.

I believe it is rude of the company to sell these, but I don't think they are breaking any laws.

Hindus protest use of gods on underwear by US firm : India World

New Delhi - India's eastern state of Orissa has lodged a protest with the US government seeking action against a California-based website for hurting religious sentiments of people by selling undergarments with images of Hindu gods, a newspaper reported Friday. Hindu priests and religious groups had slammed the website, cafepress.com, for selling undergarments embellished with faces of several gods and goddesses, including the presiding deities of Jagannath temple, considered among the most sacred Hindu temples in India.

They are also selling this design, which would break the law if sold in Germany. It's on the first page for undergarment sorted by "bestselling".

I finally went to the web site to see for my self, and I didn't see anything wrong. It's not like they were singling out the India religion. In fact I had to search and search and finally found one T-shirt with the Buddha.

These idiots have no room to complain. This company had thousands of T-shirts making fun of everything.

Why would they pick this battle? They have done more free advertising than any ad campaign could have hoped for. At the same time they have succeeded in making planetary fools of their thin skins. Sometimes it is just best to ignore!

That is so sad. Buddhism is not Hinduism, and neither of them are "the India religion." Are you for real?

What is that for an argument? Only because they make fun of many different things it doesn't automatically make it ok.
