Hi all. I just received a 20GB 4th gen (not color) charged it for a couple hrs, then transfered all music. Everything works fine as long as it is connected to Mac or charger but it dies as soon as it is unplugged and won't turn on. I tried restting a couple times, then I wiped it (restore) with the iPod utilty, still no go.

I'm sending it back to Amazon but I'm still curious. Any ideas??

Dead battery.

definitely a dead battery...amazon should give you a new replacement. ask for a photo for your troubles! =]

Thanks! I returned it for a refund so I'm back to square one. Maybe I should consider a photo. I don't want another dead batery from something that's been sitting on the shelf for too long. I went with the old model cause I thought it was a good deal
