I really hope this is the right forum, if not, I apologize.

My question is this: if I use a 60 gig firewire hard drive as my OS X install disk, can I take that between two Powermacs (a Quicksilver 867 and an MDD dual 867) without any problems? I just wonder if I would experience any problems with the different processors and video cards etc.

Any help you can give me is greatly appreciated.

Somebody confirm this, but I believe all OS X installations are generic. My iBook seems to have a lot more drivers (KEXTs) than my hardware supports.

It would probably work, but I bet boot times will be crap slow. Every time you plug it into a new machine, the OS would have to rediscover all the needed extensions, etc.
