Topic says it all. I don't know if this is a Panther or Safari change, but the https sites no longer squeal on my Al 17! It used to do it during iSync and .Mac as well, but not anymore - anyone else?

It is true here as well. Those weird noises in safari when navigating secure sites are gone......

What was that anyway?

No why loading secure pages caused it. I just used the whine as a signal to indicate I had an ssl encrypted page. It was a "feature."

I hadn't noticed it until you mentioned it, but now I've checked, it's gone

Never really bothered me much anyhow!

It's gone on my 17" as well as the skips on my Microsoft BT mouse.

Regrets are small: QT no longer plays my MPEG2 clips, but I am sure there will be a fix for that soon. Also Juno ISP software will not work; I had to subscribe to Earthlink.net at twice the monthly fee. Juno will get themselves together with Panther soon I hope.

But all in all I really like Panther. XBENCH gave a 91.2 score with Jaguar and a 105 score with Panther, a gain of about 15 points.
