I just installed Panther and realized that my Soundsticks are no longer working. I went into System Preferences/Sound to select them from the drop down and it is not enabled because it is greyed out. Output claims Internal Speakers only. However, I looked at the System Profile and it says Soundsticks.

I already restarted and also tried unplugging and replugging them in. Yes, they have power.

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Mine work too. Why don't you unplug them and then plug them back in?

Thanks for the replies. I have already tried unplugging and replugging in every possible combination. I even created a matrix to make sure I covered all possibilities. Tonight I will give them a talking to and see if that doesn't work.

I'm glad to hear most everyone isn't having trouble.

Thanks.

I thought mine were working fine as well - they make sound, by the volume controls do not work! They stay at the same volume for iTunes - the iTunes volume control does change the volume, but not the built in computer volume control

Works great here. Mine is a G3 B&W, clean install.

Sometimes, after start up, the sound extra menu is showed at bottom level, that is, as 'no sound' but there is sound really, then even if you move it, the system sound does not change, iTunes works.
