Do you take female boxers seriously?
Or do you think that women should let men be boxers?
I read this story about how this woman died in an amateur boxing match.
If you agree or disagree give a reason why?

A preliminary cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
I find it hard enough to take male boxers seriously. Male or female, this can happen to either, especially when the whole point of the sport is to bash your opponent in the head until s/he passes out.

I take those boxers seriously!
Really, I just cannot imagine two women boxers filling up Caesar's Palace on a Saturday night to watch.
I cannot imagine why they do it, to be honest.

No, that's german worldchampion Regina Halmich against german TV show host Stefan Raab who broke his nose in this fight!

As for women's pugilistics...meh. I wouldn't pay to watch it. Men's boxing is also a shadow of its former self as well. We're not exactly going to have another Rumble In The Jungle anytime soon, if ever.

I'm really surprised that there are no boxing enthusiasts here. Most everyone seems to dislike boxing.
Wow.
I don't like it either.

I'll third that. Boxing, the "sport" where those who haven't outgrown the hunter-gatherer phase of evolution yet, get to watch others beat themselves senseless, in order for the audience to live a vicious vicarious dream.

I take them seriously. A female instructor at my martial arts dojo is a boxer and she's very good at it. I wouldn't want to be in the ring with her.
I'm not a big fan of boxing, but it can be fun to watch two good athletes go at it.
Anyway, in terms of clothing, boxers are cool, but in my opinion boy shorts are better:

Female or not, if they want to do it, let them. How many men have died in the ring, and why aren't you up in arms about that?

Because, this is CodyDawg. She will glance over one article she found online, form an opinion, and then her mind will set like concrete.

He has a point.
Plus I really expected her to post pics of herself or other ladies in boxers.

If they want to box let them box. Its no more dangerous than mens boxing. I find it no more interesting than regular boxing.

Seriously enough to not want to piss any of them off...
Though I can't say I really respect boxers at all. Male or female, boxing is the most idiotic sport in existence if you ask me (which, indirectly, you did ). I cannot see a single good reason that anyone would want to take part in a sport whose only purpose is for two people to beat each other up.

Most sports don't have a "purpose" besides getting a spherical object in a little hole or net, which hardly seems to be working for the greater good for mankind.
I did some basic boxing training for a couple years and it's not an easy sport. It takes an incredible amount of training, skill, and endurance. Amateur/olympic boxing is also scored and judged like most martial arts, it's not about KOs like professional boxing. (Would you judge the merits of wrestling by it's "pro" variant?)

No, but life is about doing what makes you happy, which happens to be alot easier when money is not a factor.

Boxing is a sport where rich men make money from poor men beating the sh1t out of each other for your entertainment.

Well I don't really like pro boxing honestly though I find it entertaining to watch. It's dangerous, corrupt, and mismanaged. But so are most pro sports.

True, but the point of most sports, as I see it, is to use some energy, keep fit, and generally have fun while doing it (soccer is silly in itself, but 22 people running around together can be a lot of fun).
Boxing, while very good at keeping you fit, has the sole purpose of hitting and hurting each other. I just don't get that.

Like most sports, boxing came from martial roots. When nations fought with swords and spears, close combat often came down to killing each other with bare hands, and those skills eventually became codified and evolved into the sport of boxing. It is, in my opinion, archaic. Not my idea of a good time.
Do I take female boxers seriously? You betcha! I'm not going to give anyone who can hurt me on purpose a reason to do so. Do I think that female boxing is a good thing? Not at all. I don't think that ANYONE boxing is a good idea. I do not think either should be banned, but they must be scrupulously regulated to keep the incidence of such tragedies as the one Cody posted to a minimum. But when the point is to beat the poo out of each other, eventually somebody's going to have all the poo come out and die. Sorry, that's part of the game, and that's what they signed up for.

Well, the entire fate of mankind rests on the the ability of getting a cylindrical object in a little hole.

OUCH!
Just remember:
Lazarus Long
A zygote is a gamete's way of producing more gametes. This may the purpose of the universe."
The cylinder/hole thing is just a mechanism through which the gametes manipulate us. Not that I'm complaining, mind you, but I like to keep things in perspective.
