I installed the latest update from Apple, Apple DVD Player Version: 2.7 in my 400mhz Titanium PowerBook and now the slot loading cd doesn't recognize any cd I put it. The Ti draws in the cd, but then it just sits in the drive until the computer ejects it after about 2 minutes or so. I can't install any software because of this.
Any ideas. I see cd's in OS X installed on the Ti fine. Just OS 9.1 since the update.

Try starting with the OS 9 all extension set and see if there might be an extension conflict... if this doesn't let you see any cd's... try reinstalling the dvd update with only the OS 9 extensions to see if this might help to resolve your issue....
good luck,
dave
