I have read a few reviews on here but there havent been a lot. So Im just seeing if they really are that good? I found them for $108. Which is relatively cheap. Anyway, anyone want to comment on them?

TIA,

Josh

i had the original soundsticks and they were fine: great bass and decent mid/high range. I like the controls on the creature speakers now though.

I have the Soundsticks II and yes they are incredible.

They have very good clarity, put the sub under your desk for great reverb in your bass too.

I think my G5's metal is interfering with mine, works with my ibook fine. Is there way to insulate the plug?

No problems on either my PB17 or my Mac mini.

I think the SoundSticks are overpriced. They're not bad speakers, but you can get better sound for the same money, or the same sound for a lot less money.

Interesting. I hate the controls on the creatures; there's no feedback to confirm that you're increasing or decreasing volume.

Ah, but if you can get them at a discount... I go mine about a month old for about US$55. Worth every penny and then some.

I have a pair on my G5 and love them. Best speakers I've ever owned for a PC. You really have to hear them to appreciate it.

 They're not bad, but there's a lot better out there.

I have the original Soundsticks. They sound good, but as tooki mentioned, for the same price you can get better sounding speakers. I bought them because they look cool paired with my Power Mac/Cinema Display. If sound quality is most important, skip them. If lookes are more important, they are the best speakers to match the Mac motif.

Gah! I just noticed this is in the wrong forum! :grr:

The PowerBook forum is for discussing PowerBook-specific topics only.

Moving to peripherals... (I would have closed this, were it not already a long discussion)

I love mine! I paid about $100 and they are more than worth it. I'm sure there is better out there for the same money but I couldn't be happier!

At ~$110, the soundsticks are priced with the klipsch 2.1s. You get a little better sound quality at the cost of looks, or you get good looks and a slightly more awkward sound.

That's what it comes down to, but to say the the soundsticks still sound relatively decent next to the klipsch 2.1s means they sound better than most speakers

I was thinking of getting the Creature II speakers, or the Soundsticks II... which do you think produces the best quality sound?
