Anyone know where the best places to obtain wifi? I am a college student and I am constantly looking for new places to study. I usually go to Starbucks, but they require you to sign up and pay.

Can anyone suggest a cafe or a place to study with free wifi?

Thank you.

There are websites that list wifi hotspots all over the US and the world.
Here are two:

Jiwire:
JiWire Global Wi-Fi Finder

Free wifi hotspots
free wi-fi hotspots wifi cafes coffee shops hotels airports RV Parks

You can narrow down your search to those in your area or where you are traveling.

All the schools I've attended in the last 10 years have had free (for students) WiFi, so it hasn't been an issue for me.

As for Starbucks, Starbucks now says that they are offering free, unlimited WiFi at all their hotspot-equipped locations. This is obviously a change since they instituted their 2 hour free per day program. I don't know when they made this change, but that's what their site says today...

Probably some competition from McDonalds.

I'll be on a work trip soon with a Starbucks nearby. I'd planned on stopping each morning for coffee and a muffin to go, but now maybe I'll stick around with my iPad.

You guys are too funny! I love the suggestions and thanks for the research on Starbucks internet. I love the environment, but have not been there to study because their wifi is not available to everyone for free. I will probably choose Starbucks more than any other locations because it is conveniently located on literally almost every block.
