Heard a daft rumour about Trump pardoning himself and his family in secret before leaving office. Surely you can't pardon yourself for a crime you haven't been charged with?
I have plenty of more important things to do, if only I could bring myself to do them....

When Ford pardoned Nixon, that set the precedent that you can, in fact, be pardoned for crimes you have not committed.* Whether a president can pardon himself has yet to be tried, so we really don't know how that would hold up, if it were to ever be argued before SCOTUS.

* - "Committed" in this case, meaning "has not been charged and/or found guilty in a court of law." We all know Nixon was guilty AF.

Pardon? NO freakin’ way. There’s a whole lot of accountability to be established, and it’s important to “moving on” that the individuals who attempted to destroy our Republic face the music.

Starting with Donny.

Let’s see here. He’s being impeached again...no pardon here. And as part of the charge - inciting insurrection - he may have Article 3 of the 14th Amendment applied to him. That’s gonna shut down any 2024 run right there.

Then there are a number of Federal criminal issues, also about incitement. NO, an impeachment won’t negate them, as it’s a different offense (the impeachment is about violating his oath of office and the Federal crimes are about inciting violence against Federal officials).

Then there’s the whole “how did the President of the United States wind up half a BILLION dollars in debt, and how did he get elected with all those sketchy financial issues?

And of course need to let the State of New York have at Donny’s hijinks. They’ve been collecting evidence about major issues related to his corporate misdeeds, both before and during his term.

So I think I should order a LOT of popcorn...this could be a long, and very interesting saga.

NY brought a forensic accountant on board late last year. That was roundly seen as an indication that s**t was getting very, very real for Donald, his companies, and, possibly, his “investors.”
