please dont tell me to search i tried that with no luck Is there a free app that can open microsoft office files. just need to open some E-mailed word documents and I am poor. please help??

Try TextEdit for .doc files, which you already have.

Instead of saying your question is stupid, how about you just hint at your question topic in the thread title?

Many programs can open Word documents. If you need something more sophisticated than TextEdit try AbiWord or NeoOffice, both of which are free.
