You could use a different theme until they are out.

I was hoping nobody was going to start a thread on this :o

They are coming but I am currently working on two icon sets and blinds for www.guiolympics.com at the moment. So you'll just have to wait as I'm sure it'll be worth it when the time comes. Still tweaking them here and there as they will have to be perfect before public gets them so no release date till I am happy.

Original size for them is 256x pix, was thinking of adding certain ones for dock's when all colour schemes are complete don't know yet.

Just a old snippet of them.

Looks great, my only "complaint" would be the trash can, the bottom is way out of perspective. Needs to be more rounded.

Great job, though.

Personally I don't use floppy (disks)drives as soon they will be getting phased out on PC but i'm sure there will be some users on XP that would bitch its not skinned.

Really aiming to get every icon on both OS X & XP skinned with these.

I'm sure someone will ask here what the other colours would look like for the icons...

Do you render these in 3D or draw them by hand? They look very good.

Unfortunately all my stuff is Photoshop, really wish I could afford some 3D application make them true 3D objects. Would be so wicked see them at all viewing angles.

Awesome icon set but what's up with hard drive icon looking so similar to Iconizer's G-Drives Icon set? Was this intentional?

http://www.iconizer.com/Images/icon_...s/gdrives2.jpg

[edit] never mind now as it've been changed now. I'm not trying to be an ass but copying other icon's design without permission just get on my nerve

I had no idea who's they were as I assumed they were related to Apple but I should have said before about them, as one can normally tell difference between OS X style Icons and PC versions but they have been redone due to that as my above shots are old previews.

Hey voo - I think you are doing a great work on those icons, I saw a couple of new ones in there too. I think this icons set will make Aluminum Alloy complete, especially combined with the new update I'm tinkering with.. You got a timeframe on these?

These icons look great -- I can hardly wait for their debut. That being said, I have to agree with the posts calling for the "old-style" hard drive icons (the "G Drive" lookalikes") -- I think they look better than the "new" ones, and they also match the perspective of the other icons in the set...

aye true which was a real shame lost about 2 months or so mockups and so on so many things I had done I can't even remember what was lost. But better things are on the way. Working on different variations as I really want to get these perfect.
However wondering if I should lose the apple logos and replace them with the theme logos?
Still trying to come up with a folder I really like... preview sample for now.

Icons work in progress

i think i just wet myself.....

These icons are superbly done. I love all aspects of them. Great job Voo!!

For your folder, might i suggest you look at your HD directory in column view and think about a design that way? I also agree with you about the Apple logo on the HD's i think the theme logo would be a nice touch. Or maybe make a 'X' drive?'

Again great work, and please keep us updated

I peronally think that the apple would look good as the could be used with other themes too but agree the theme icons would look cool too.

Absolutely fantastic icon set, voo. Even better than the first preview pic.

Are there going to be any replacement app-icons? How about some cool Core Image, Audio, & Video icons..

1 more suggestion: the apple on the Display icon- make it just a bit smaller, it'll make the Cinema Display look more like the 30-incher

It'll be a full system replacement set, custom files you name it really hoping to have as many icons as the MMX icons if not more. Several variations of computers, displays, drives, folders, system folders and so on...
All the filetypes will probably take the longest, though by the time these 4 sets are finnished I hate to see the size of this icon set. :o So once complete OS X will be first release.

Currently saving up for a G5 so can work on them even more but I'll need to see when the time comes so I'll be busy working away getting the bulk of them made on the PC for now. As they should be worth the wait, I do hope these will be one of the coolest icon sets yet.

Click this link, then click "icons" (god, I hate frames) then scroll down to "Max Theme Icons". They go great with Aluminum alloy!

This was why I did not want to post info but people were getting so flippin impatient "I guess the icons are not coming then? anyone else up for the challenge?" and such as its a work in progress. Some icons will change till they look right some im happy with.
But ofcourse people will find fault in everything, or I might turn them into Terrahawks robot balls

I just did an icon that looks almost identical to your network icon but with different colours and I have no idea how. Must be a subliminal mind thing, I've stopped work on the set now.

those icons look great. anything for AA would be nice. I like the glossy-ness of the icons. Any chance for a 3g ipod as well as the 4g one? Anyways .. thanks for the hard work, hope they will become completed soon.

by the way, i prefer the folder icons with the colored spines over the flat sheets of metal. the theme icons look great on the sides =)

Yeah, been really really busy with work. Never fear it will make its debut.
Currently waiting on Tiger to be released before I purchase a new G5 so I can finnish them. As I want to check out the actual theme before any last changes. I really want these icons to be close to perfection.

I'll release mini sets first to go with it, then finnish of the super duper sets.
