It just started yesterday, but everytime I download a filename.dmg, it arrives on my desktop as filename.dms. I then rename it .dmg and it works fine.

But I'd rather not have to rename each file.

Any help?

Thanks,
Jason

Speed Download's fault.
Nasrudin sat on a river bank when someone shouted to him from the opposite side: "Hey! how do I get across?" "You are across!" Nasrudin shouted back.

I guess that would make sense. The issue cropped up just about the same time I installed Speed Download.

Is there a setting in SD to stop any interaction between it and Safari? (I'd test myself, but I'm at my work computer right now and I'm curious.)

Yes, it's a Speed Download II issue...you need to use the SPII un-installer to rid yourself of all associated SPII files to correct the problem...
