Of course, I have absolutely no illegal software on my computer. Or mp3s or anything else of that nature. But I was wondering if any of you guys have pirated software that you rely on for your day-to-day functioning. For example, your Mac OS, Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Omniweb, FCP, etc etc etc.

actually, this is all a front for my secret desire to pirate a particular program, and I'm waiting for someone to post here that they have pirated this particular program, then I will ask them where to get it.

the program I'm talking about is AtEase

...or am I thinking of a different AtEase?

There is one piece of software that I really like and use regularly, but can't afford... whether I have pirated it or not at any given time (or am just using the demo version) depends on whether my conscience has been acting up lately.

Nope, none here. I might want to suggest anyone who believes they need to pirate a certain Adobe app that rhymes with Motoshop, perhaps get PS Elements - It's only $99. It's only missing a few features (Actions, channels, and CMYK & Lab modes).

Not to mention the utter crap that some of these people make with a stolen $700 app

I don't have any pirated anything on my computer.

I only pirate products from a company whose name rhymes with "I grow soft."
As for pirating hardware, well, if I was to stumble across a G5 that had been left unattended at the curb somewhere, I just wouldn't be able to resist the temptation...

I did purchase my PS Elements, as I have no need for PS7. I have one or two or four apps pirated, and yes they rhyme with "I grow soft"

No one has admitted anything...

I used to be a student and couldn't afford Office so i did what anyone with a T1 and hotline would have done...so I did it.

Now I can afford it but really have no need for it since I have a old pc that has Office on it.

I have one certain program that I never paid for, but should have. I borrowed it from my bro's computer, because I put a superdrive in mine, and needed a way to make DVDs. Need to buy that iLife bundle sometime.

Photoshop, Illustrator, GoLive, LiveMotion
Final Cut Pro
Transmit
BBEdit (only version 6 though)

All paid for.

What has the amount of free HD space to do with having pirated software or not ?

Anyway, almost everything I have is pirated. Except for OSX . But hey I'm a poor highschool student, I can't aford all those apps. And I need to learn "Motoshop"

What I use most: Photoshop+ImageReady, Dreamweaver and Office (Word actually). I refuse to use Open Office it sucks.

Sorry, I forgot to add that I'm a poor student that has no money to buy anything. Actually I have to call the bank in the end of each month just to get some money to buy food. or rather

What the nerd community most often fail to realize is that all features aren't equal. A well implemented and well integrated feature in a convenient interface is worth way more than the same feature implemented crappy, or accessed through a annoying interface.

No pirated software that I rely upon. I use Open Office rather than Office v.X because it v.X is a pile of dung. I wouldn't even pirate it.

Used to pirate a program that rymed with motoshop ironically it was vs. 3 when 5.5 was out! hahaha a teacher at school gave it to me, eventually I realized it was wrong so I deleted it, I eventually bought PS LE, and then Elements.
With an Edu discount for a Christmas gift my family bought me Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and FreeHand. Other than those programs I don't think I have any apps that I would buy... although I have to delete my FTP client's preffs before every use

I bought OS X, havn't gotten Jaguar hence why I don't have it, I'll probably buy Panther though.

If I need a text editor open office or text edit will have to do, I don't intend to pirate microsoft's products... I actually don't intend to buy em period, if I need MSN or IE I'll burn a CD so that that junk never defiles my next Mac's hard drive

I hate pirating, since the author of the software will not receive any payment for his hard work as a result.

That's why I steal hardcopies of all the software I use from the local Apple store instead.
