BEHOLD
Simple UU Matter machine. Cobble machine feeding an overclocked Recycler, scrap is pumped into Mass fabricator. Right now produces 1 UU in ~30s with 13 block breakers. I plan on doubling the cobble production to speed it up even further.

Mine's not so pretty. 4 recyclers, 4 block breakers, and the mass fab only run's 1/4 of the time, then again as is it will drain 2 MFSUs.
Its all wired up so it all turns off with a lever.

Really trying to be the mad scientist, aren't you? Genius.

I haven't played in a while. Not for lacking of wanting to, but more between obsession with Borderlands and creative block with starting my industrial complex that I just can't find the motivation. Hopefully I'll be on around xmas.

Well they aren't attached to the flying machine anymore. So no zombie bombing anyone. They make for a very productive xp grinder though.

Did you leave them midair, so they drop just enough to almost die? Where did you perchance put them?

It occurs to me, you created an even more effective mobile oppression palace for a while there.

I'm working on a new temple. I repointed the zombie grinder teleporter so it will take you to the grinder end of things. The new setup isn't as moody as the previous.
As far a mobile oppression palaces go not a bad idea. There are other spawners... The problem is that if they fall from any significant height they'll die. There's a solution to that though. I'm not gonna tell you what it is but I may build it. Someone would have to be in the palace for it to generate the zombies though.

I repurposed some watermills into water strainers so the zombie grinder teleporter would have more reliable power. By dedicating a single strainer to the energy link I'm restricting it to 2eu/t about the same as 2 redstone engines. With the other 5 strainers It produces 100eu/s. Thats close to 10x what I was getting from the water mills in passive operation. I had to jump start it by connecting a batbox to the energy link and feeding it a little power.

After reading Blaze's post I did some reading on these "energy link" gizmos... and thus I created:
6829/width/350/height/700[/IMG]
6830/width/350/height/700[/IMG]
Absolutely no idea how may EU it's pushing, but it runs all I need (and then some). General idea is I have 3 mills running a energy link powering the pump. gold waterproof pipe connects a total of 21 mills all to one battery (18 generate power, 3 power the pump).
If fills a battery box rather quick compared to my old setup. It does require a rather large "infinite pool" of water (5x5x1) and needs to be primed to start (I used a generator) but once it gets going...

Can't silk touch ice till 1.4. Haven't tried an ice block in the nether.
Ice compressed from snow balls will turn to water in the nether.

In order to make it more of a K shape it would need to be 4 blocks wide, which completely screws up the symmetry of the sign, which....
In other words....bugger off.

You can use the half slab strips and have 4x the pixel density. Unfortunately they must be a full block in the other dimension.

The white letters are lamps, although the idea of sliced lamps would actually be pretty sweet.

I think blaze's idea was solid lamps + sliced letters in front of lamp.

Version 2.0
Now has enough scrap to keep the Mass Fab. stocked to the brim.
Plans for the future. Since after the next update there will no energy collectors (right?) I'll have to think about producing a hell of a lot more cobble and/or a lot more UU matter.

Equivalent Exchange 3 will be allot different than 2. He's trying to make it more balanced. Thats leaves UU-matter as the only certain way to get matter from energy until details of EE3 come out.

I can understand the collectors making things far too easy (particularly on a server), but I'm miffed about the removal of condensers and the destruction catalyst. Curious how the Alchemists Eye (or whatever it is) works without EMC.
Oh well, I won't worry as I think implementing it would require a whole new world and I don't see us doing that again, again.

I suspect there will be a way to go to the new version of tekkit without destroying the world. Besides you don't get to complain about the condenser missing. You'll just keep using NEI.

Whoa, there Mr. Judgmental. You're talking to a guy who had the foresight to collect enough energy to create expensive-ass dark matter blocks for the holodeck, manually built stacks upon stacks of lamps, and labored through railcraft. It's not like my effort is lacking.

Tekkit Question:
in the planning stages for a rather large structure. Considering construction foam. Anyone used it? Thoughts? tips / tricks / warnings / ravings?
Vanilla Question:
Not sure if I've become spoiled by Tekkit, but the rail lines seem to be running slower? Anyone else notice this? I checked the wiki and nothing was mentioned. I know the 'stopping power' of a deactivated rail decreased, causing a simple V stop to fail...

I've played with it. Takes a while to dry, and is intangible during that time (i.e., you'll fall through it). Then you have to paint it, I think.
Quite durable, though.

I used it because I wanted to block off the light coming through a hole I needed for a power cable. Beyond those two spots I haven't touched it since. It appears to end up looking like a cross between wool and smooth stone.
You've been spoiled by Railcraft. I've been spoiled by the super sprint if the quantum pants.

So it has a set time. Not an issue for what I'm considering, and may actually help.
yes, yes, I'm spoiled by high speed rails. and dark matter armor. and mining turtles. (speaking of which, I a bunch more turtles coming out in the update, from farming, to digging, to fighting. soon I'll need to make 4 fighting turtles and name them Leonardo, Mich... )
On an unrelated note, has to wonder, how many other places one could use the phrase "quantum pants" in polite conversation....

So I'm refining some fuel for something to do and I'm bucketing fuel and oil into tanks to see if I can do something when I come across a glitch. Its pumping fuel out of a tank full of oil. Now to discern if it happens with water. edit: I works with water too.

Also redstone engines will explode under certain circumstances. For example putting them next to an energy link.

Also worked on my rail station.
There are three launching stations, just get in and go. If all the launch stations are full and the buffer is full it returns your cart, the butt end of the retriever is visible.

OK, another question: I need to move items from the blast furnace to my dam. Transport Pipes or Ender Chest; which is more stable and server-friendly? Not really concerned about 'cost' - prefer reliable/no crashing...
Thoughts?
(and yes, this is so I can feed creosote oil into a recycler to create scrap for my mass fabricator.)
On a related note, anyone who needs steel, don't waste time making it. The blast furnace complex, even operating at half capacity, makes plenty. Just bring coal and iron with you.

Use an ender chest. Mostly because without world anchors at both locations the teleport pipes will bug out and break. Too many world anchors is a problem. I'll have to recode my chests to something beyond default. Maybe everyone should pick a color for the first digit. I pick red.

I do have world anchors at both places. Regardless, I'm cool with Ender chests.
I'll select blue (unless that's the default, then it's cyan)
On world anchors, I have 3 going right now, but that will drop to 2 shortly. Reworking power and ore refining at the tower so I don't need to run 24/7 there.

Blaze,
you were completely correct: the hydro pyramid concept does not scale well at all. My previous setup only generated ~80 EU or so. Slightly less strainers in this setup and it's averaging over 100 EU.
7355/width/350/height/700[/IMG]
In other news, I've reduced my world anchor usage to 1, rigged my tower hydo pyramid to a battery so I can turn it off, and wired the blast furnace so it too can be turned off when not in use (and reduced the clocks there from 3 to 1 in the process.
In my test world I've started playing with frame motors. Interesting concept, those.

Someone rightfully pointed out that it was likely the work of a program rather than human hands, but its still interesting to see these things in block form for some reason.

Haven't been on in a while, busy with holiday etc... and will be away next week. I may try logging in from FL to show my dad the worlds we've made, so if you see a strange IP that's it.
Odd question, the kids version of minecraft has started playing static instead of any minecraft noise. It's the latest update. The speakers work fine for iTunes music and other games, it's only minecraft making static- walking noises, breaking blocks, everything.
Any clues? Non-intel g5.
