Just because people use them as desktop/workstations doesn't mean they are supposed to match every spec of one. They also don't support 3.5" hard drives. If people find them robust enough to use as a desktop replacement that's a positive thing but it doesn't mean Apple ought to engineer it to turn in to that. As of several months ago, there were no laptops that I know of that had ECC memory -- are there some now that do?
