Last night, we grilled bacon wrapped chicken drummettes. Half were glazed in a sauce made from peanut butter, teriyaki sauce, soy sauce, honey, and some cayenne pepper. We also made some bacon wrapped baby bellas. They all turned out amazing.
We weren't sure if glazing the bacon would work well, but it was out of this world. Although we were pretty hammered, we both agreed they were the best drumsticks either of us had ever eaten. The bacon kept the chicken nice and moist, even though they were on the grill for just over an hour. It was so tender, when you bit through the bacon, the chicken came right off the bone.
Also, this is the proper way to eat an OREO.
Happy OREOing!

If you use a fork with the OREOs, it keeps them from breaking off at the dry line. You can just set it and forget it, then pull the whole thing out once it has reached your desired level of sogginess.
Surely I'm not the only one that wraps food in bacon and takes pictures of it! Here's a couple more. I bet a few macnners come home drunk, see these pics, and proceed to make some bacon. I figured there hasn't been a food thread in a while, why not post some food porn. Has anybody else made something tasty lately?
Bacon wrapped asparagus, baby carrots, potatoes, and cinnamon dusted apple slices.
Bacon wrapped, cream cheese and ground turkey stuffed jalapeno poppers. Possibly some bacon wrapped meatballs.
Bacon wrapped turkey drumsticks; bacon wrapped, cream cheese stuffed jalapeno poppers; bacon.
Pretty much anything wrapped in bacon turns out great. Snickers and soft fruits are the exception to this rule.

Bacon-wrapped dates. Baked, with a little olive oil-cider vinegar mixture on the bottom. Maybe a little basic, but mmmmmmm....

I run a lot, but if bacon brings me an early death, so be it. I'll die happy. Besides which, I quit smoking about a year and half ago after smoking from 14 to 30 years old. I'll take bacon over cigarettes any day.

I've heard bacon wrapped dates and figs are awesome, they're on my list of things to wrap in bacon.

Here are some ideas for you next time. I was afraid we would run out of propane tonight, but we lucked out. - bacon wrapped turkey drumsticks - it's worth the wait, marinate them before you wrap them. pull back the skin, put a few slices of bacon on each one, and pull the skin back up. heaven.
- bacon wrapped chicken breasts - lovely
- bacon wrapped ground turkey balls - good stuff
- bacon wrapped beef/chicken/turkey/pork cubes - yum
- bacon wrapped cream cheese stuffed jalapenos - amazing
- bacon wrapped cream cheese and ground turkey stuffed jalapenos - amazing
- bacon wrapped chorizo stuffed jalapenos - amazing
- bacon wrapped cinnamon/nutmeg dusted apple slices - great, one of my favs
- bacon wrapped asparagus - so very great
- bacon wrapped baby carrots - the flavors are so complimentary
- bacon wrapped mushrooms - can't go wrong
- bacon wrapped pineapple - i like it, but i thought it would be better
- bacon wrapped potatoes - make sure the chunks are small and well seasoned, the bacon doesn't put much flavor into it
- bacon wrapped avocados - different, still tastes like avocado. it would be good for making guacomole
- bacon wrapped strawberries - interesting texture on the roasted strawberry, tasted like a pie filling. meh
- bacon wrapped sausage chunks - very salty, but good
- bacon wrapped snickers - all the inside stuff melted out, the peanuts tasted burned. I didn't like it, but I could see it being good if you worked out how to do it right
- bacon wrapped drumsticks and drummettes - love 'em
- bacon wrapped garlic - yummy

Oh, you forgot scallops! Try bacon-wrapped scallops - it's also freakin' amazing.
One of my favs is bacon-wrapped, fennel-rubbed pork tenderloin. Pig-in-a-pig: fantastic.

I like steak and chicken, and I marinate the meat overnight. This time was a teriyaki marinade, and my lady digs the peppers.
Notice the ones without shrooms; those are mine.

I like the way this thread is going! Those kebabs look great. Keep the pictures coming. We made a blue crab chowder last week. I wish we had taken some pictures, but we were all too hungover.

I don't like scallops, but I tried them once just to see if that would make them better. My parents loved them, I could barely swallow one.

Sounds like someone needs to be shot with a bacannon
This was about 6 months ago. Some bacon wrapped strawberries, avocado, pineapple, and apples. I wanted to do some kiwis, but my mom wouldn't let me have any of the bag I had bought for that experiment.

Aw what the hell.
From last night, inspired by this thread.
Pre-BBQ:
Post-BBQ. As you can see I wasn't sure if we'd like them crispy or juicy, so I did a rough half-and-half (I normally like my bacon juicy). In retrospect we would've like them all crisped, as we felt that went better with the chewy dates (which I'll pan-fry next time before wrapping):
My wife's attempt at a pad thai this evening which turned out to be pretty delicious:

Actually, now your photos are loading. Laminar's still aren't. I'd say you need to cook them lower and/or slower. If you try to rush bacon on the grill, it will burn. Indirect heat is your friend. Only put the bacon wrapped anything over direct heat to get bigger chunks or bigger pieces of bacon to cook evenly with smaller pieces. I try to make everything cook at least an hour on the grill and about 1.25 to 1.5 hours in the oven at 325. Never rush bacon is the lesson I've learned over and over. Don't let people push you into making things be done sooner than they are, it almost never works out.

Yes I think you're right. I seared them at 400F for 5 minutes total (half and half), and then moved the "juicy" ones to indirect head and the "crispy" ones to low direct heat. Took about 30 minutes total.
I'll do them differently next time. Unfortunately this was a last-minute appetizer inspired by this thread, so I was time-limited by the rest of the meal....

You can do it at 400, you just have to turn it more often. I like 325F so more fat renders out. Either way, the last 15 minutes are crucial. The bacon will go from fatty white to crispy to burnt in no time. That's why I like 325, I think you have a bigger window to not screw things up.
It's weird how bacon cooks when it's wrapped around other foods. If you just put bacon in the oven at 325, it's done in 20-30 minutes (also the best way to cook bacon). But if you wrap it around anything, it's like the drunk trick of wrapping a 20 dollar bill around your wrist and trying to burn a hole through it. All of the heat goes into the food inside of the bacon. It's just not possible to overcook anything wrapped in bacon unless you just let it go. You can burn the bacon, but not the food inside.
edit: also, that pad thai looks incredible.

Bacon fat is actually healthier than most people think. That is, bacon fat from pigs raised without growth hormones and antibiotics is.
Bacon fat is about 65% polyunsaturated, with only about 11% saturated fat. It is also rich in vitamin A and E, so while you should not eat a pound a day, the occasional slice of bacon, or three, should actually be beneficial to your health.

I need to weave a bacon mat sometime. Every time I see one of those, my mouth waters. I like where this thread is going. That bacon haiku site reminded me of one of the early South Park DVD sets where they make bacon with a pig named Macon between eat episode. YouTube - Bakin' Bacon with Macon Ep 2
"Macon's really taken to the bacon if i'm not mistaken". Classic.

Yup. Laminar contributed a photo of a Flickr image-sharing error to the bacon lovefest. So yes, it is showing up just fine.
As for the rest of you fine posters, keep the suggestions and pics coming.
