How exactly does it look like? Do you have any evidence to back this claim?

Interesting enough, he didn't wait for the power shift to happen. I guess it would be embarrassing to be forced out as opposed to resigning.

It's a waste of time and taxpayer money. Not to mention, they could be improving the state of our nation rather than settling scores.

Let me go further. If the Democrats do attempt to impeach the shrub, I will actively help their opponents in the next election up to and including providing my professional services pro bono. I want to see politicians get back to representing the people, not their selective bullshiit.

The nation saw what a distraction impeachment was with Clinton. In the end, what did it get us? Nada.

Our elected officials should keep their eye on the ball. That's how the Democrats won this election. I hope they remember that fact. Of course, power corrupts so they probably won't.

To me a more likely solution would be for him to face criminal charges should the evidence exist. Impeachment is a joke. But that all depends upon what your definition of is is.

The interesting thing to watch will be whether Bush attempts to govern more toward the center, as he did in Texas. He's played exclusively to his base for the last six years, but he doesn't have to run again, and that strategy finally blew up in his face yesterday. Now he's got to be worried about salvaging some kind of success to leave as a legacy.

As easy as it would be to jump on a Rumsfeld hate wagon or count this as some sort of victory to those disdainful of Bush… I'd not get so glib.

While relatively unexpected, it is not at all uncommon for an event like this.

Additionally, don't mistake this for any change in the administrations policy. As the newly nominated SOD you can bet his views are of Bush's.

There can be dancing in the streets and Rumsfeld effigies… but it is only an 'emotional' win.

How does it go? The SOD is dead, long live the SOD.

I'm not sure why Rumsfeld had to leave now that the Democrats have control of the House, let alone immediately.

Rush says he heard Bolton is next.

Rush is totally pissed at Bush now, how funny.
Being in debt and celebrating a lower deficit is like being on a diet and celebrating the fact you gained two pounds this week instead of five.

If Bush & Chaney were both ousted, then Nancy Pelosi would become president, wouldn't she?

The new Congress doesn't get seated until January. By resigning now, his replacement can be confirmed by the current, Republican-controlled Senate. CNN just called Montana for the Democrat, so the best the Republicans can hope for in the new Senate is a 50/50 split.

Nope, House Speaker trumps the President (pro tempore) of the Senate.

The President (pro tempore) of the Senate is not the Senate majority leader, he is usually the member of the majority party with the most seniority. It it currently Ted "The Internet is made of tubes" Stevens.

Oh, this makes loads more sense now.

Edit: Well outside of the fact that he's actually resigning.

It'd only be for two years. I think it's a great opportunity to see how she would do.

Bush flip flops, and Rumsfeld cuts and runs.

I think it is a bit crazy that Bush is making his decisions on the Iraq war based only on political considerations. If Rumsfeld was the wrong guy for the job last week or last year, he should have resigned then. But I guess Republican votes are more important than the lives of our soldiers.

Nothing to address, he called it like it is.

So, back to President Pelosi. What a frightening thought. But then, look at what we have now.

Who was that fat, pedophile-protecting guy from Illinois who had Pelosi's job again?

But I'm right, aren't I? "Stay the course" is a good strategy, but only until the day after the election? What an odd coincidence. 103 Americans died in Iraq in October.
