Just lately I have noticed that on every reboot after a kernel panic, hang, or normal restart, that Spotlight begins to reindex all my drives (internal and external) each time. This is slowing down the restart considerably. Is this normal behavior in the age of 10.5.4? thanks!

I noticed that the first time I restarted after installing. I hope it doesn't happen every time, but at least it wasn't a full reindex - it only took a couple of minutes to complete and Spotlight is much more usable for me now than it formerly was.

yes this machine is doing what looks like a partial re-index or update at each reboot. annoying!
