Greetings, I was told to create a new thread when I tried to quote post 4322201 because the thread located at

http://forums.macnn.com/69/mac-noteb...rmbp-15-force/

is too old to bump.

So, I am creating a new thread.

Here is my response to the quote:

I just tried that on 10.2.3, and it didn't work.

Here is the weird thing. I did a search for part of the text in the text document that I was trying to find. Spotlight initially found it. So, I opened it, saved some changes, and closed the document. When I wanted to find it again an hour later, Spotlight DID NOT locate it, even when I re-opened the document right there on the screen.

So,
Before I opened it, Spotlight found it.
After I opened and added text to it, Spotlight could not find it even with the SAME previous search terms.

Update: Wait 30 minutes and try again. Spotlight finds it.

What's going on?

Spotlight reindexing isn't instantaneous. It does seem to be quite slow in your case, though.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.
