I thought that the size of a message in Yosemite was almost unlimited. I can't even send a 31meg photo.

Any suggestions?

In theory, yes.

However, I can't think of a legitimate reason to send a 190MB photo.
If you actually do, use Dropbox.

So there.

I don't think Mail.app puts a limit on the attachment size, but mail servers usually do.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

Actually, some if not all systems can have a "per file" maximum, as well as a "message" maximum size.

Many servers it is 10 MB (could be a default setting), and some like gmail it is 25 MB (without using gdrive to bypass it)

I've also seen it where the outgoing smtp server will reject over a certain size, even if the final recipient server will accept the larger size.

If you are on Yosemite and have an iCloud account, you can use the new Maildrop feature:

Unless you have successfully sent a message with a 31MB attachment before, I would say its almost certainly your mail provider. Check with them and ask them if there is a file size limit with emails.

I think the issue is that the OP is trying to use Yosemite's MailDrop, but it's not working.

Might be a setup issue. Is Maildrop and iCloud turned on ?
