The # of votes is far lower than I expected. If everyone's voted voting can be closed soon, but I figured more people might want to vote.

I was among the first to vote, I guess. I'm also a bit disappointed, there is such a low resonance to the contest

Is there a way to see what picture is currently #1?

Voted. There's some good stuff in there this year, but I must say that there was so much more interest last year!

I voted a while ago.
I would think at least all the people that entered would vote, that would be enough no?

I am so thankful for the contest. It got me out taking pictures. I'm the type person that needs that kind of motivation

I really enjoyed shooting and viewing everyone's pics, I don't even really care who wins - it's one of those - 'doesn't matter if you win or lose, it's wether or not you had fun'

I would love to see more contests- possible categories:

"Fall Foliage"
"Winter"
"People"
"Abstract"

But I know the web hosting and all that's involved takes time and money, so I would understand if it can't be done. But if possible, that would be really awesome. Again, it gives me the push I need to get out there shooting

Best ragards,
tgags

Winter is not fair, I'll probably be in Mexico in December

No, I would say time for portraits. Landscapes, architecture, time for living beings!

I voted as well... didn't get a chance to submit a pic to this one. But now I've got a new camera, so lets get this done with and start a new contest!

Yeah, I have that little interest in voting. You guys made it too complicated.
A poll would have done just fine.

Your excuse is no longer valid; anonymous voting is now turned on
And a poll wouldn't work for what we are doing. The gallery site is handling all rank order tallying and such, AND it'll be kept archived for the future.

So to everyone who didn't want to vote because you are too lazy to register, go vote now
Note that registered people can change votes later, anon can't.

BTW, the plan is to keep the gallery site open for future contests, making registration a one time thing.

Sounds like a good idea to me. How many people cast their votes already?

Oh, and how about People as the next topic?

18 people have voted so far.

and i'm all in favor of People being the next topic. altho maybe something a tad bit more specific, like portraits or candid or group.
architecture just isn't my bag.

Yes, I second that. We've had two subjects which didn't include people, and I think portraits/people are more difficult. Especially if you want them to have an artsy touch.

I don't get. Is summer the selection? All I see is one album that says architecture. And yes, I did register. And how would someone submit a photo?

Not very intuitive to those who haven't participated before.

This is a computer-generated message and needs no signature.

It's all in the first thread, which is linked to at the top.
The summer contest is architecture, and photo submissions were due by a certain date, which is why you can't submit anymore. Voting will be ending soon (just hoping more people will vote). Then a new album will go up with a different topic.

OK. You got me. I voted . . . anonymously.

Voted also. A pity I had a lot of work and couldn't submit anything. As for people being the next topic, it seems a good idea to me.

considering how far ahead one of the pictures is, i think maybe it's time to close the voting and announce the winner(s). agreed scott?
