This is just to gauge interest and to set a potential starting price. In lieu of reading the rules, this item is actually for sale.

I have a 12" iBook G3, the case has no scratches (except maybe some very, very small ones), everything is in perfect working order except that it has the well documented reed switch problem, basically the screen will turn off sometimes when its tilt is adjusted, or the screen will fail to illuminate after waking from sleep. I am willing to replace the reed switch if a buyer requests.

This machine has the following specifications:
M8602LL/A
700MHz G3
384MB RAM
20GB HD
Combo Drive (CD-Burner, DVD-Reader)
Comes with Battery and AC adapter (Battery will still hold nearly a full charge, it's very close to original capacity)
Airport Ready

This computer has been pretty much unused for the past couple years, but it would make a great file server, print server, even web server. The 12" is a great form factor, and the G3 is able to run 10.4 surprisingly well. It will include a fresh install of 10.4 as well as all original disks.

I am thinking somewhere around $325-$375, pictures available upon request, let me know if you are interested and/or if you think this is a fair price.

Images are now up. Let me know if you are interested, all reasonable offers will be considered. I accept USPS Money Orders or PayPal, though the former is much preferred. Shipping will be UPS, FedEx, or DHL.

Feelers aren't allowed-read the rules for Marketplace. I'm informed that since you state that the item is for sale, that I should unlock the thread, so I'm doing so. BUT YOU ALSO SAY THAT YOU'RE POSTING TO GAGE INTEREST-THE DEFINITION OF A FEELER THREAD. And you say that FIRST.

Saying that you're posting this "in lieu of reading the rules" isn't the best move.

Meh... $325 sounds like a lot for a 700 MHz G3.
