I just installed skin a dock. The dock looks cool and everything but I cannot figure out how to revert it back to the normal OS' dock. Thanks for your help.

I had trouble in 10.3 getting it to take. I love some of the skins but it was really irratic whether it would apply or not.

I'm surprised in worked at all in Panther because it does not support it. I couldn't get it to do anything in Panther.

As far as the original question goes - I can't remember exactly but I'm sure there is an option or checkbox in the preference pane that let's you turn it off. I don't remember having trouble doing this before. I don't have Jaguar anymore so I can't check.

Somebody posted a review on MacUpdate saying they tried this on Panther and it kind of works sometimes but is very unstable. It isn't made for Panther at all, so I wouldn't be surprised if it caused major problems. I use Cleardock now (which just adjusts the color and transparency of the dock background). That creates a backup of the original dock which may be what it relies on to revert back to normal. If Skin-a-dock did not do this correctly it may not be able to revert back.

Remember, it is only a Beta, and a Jaguar-only Beta at that! Hopefully there will be a simple fix for what has been messed up but I don't know what that is I'm afraid.

Not meaning to sound cynical or anything but umm maybe check compatibility before using software. It will save you these headaches man.

Maybe try and disable Skin-a-Dock and logout and in again ? Just do the thing you did before and remove the APE file.

I remember doing somewhat the same thing. installing and trying to get it to work on Panther. But somehow it worked out for me - the uninstalling part. I believe there is something in the Cache folder that can be deleted named something with "icon.cache"
