i'm using a Bluetake BT500 mouse with my pb 15" 1.25. the mouse works great, btw. however, when i don't check the option to "ignore trackpad when mouse is present" it still ignores the trackpad with the BT mouse in use. and when i say "in use" i mean, the mouse is on and ready to use, not that i'm actually moving it around. there are occassions when i'd like to be able to use both at the same time. as it is, i can't use the trackpad until i turn the BT mouse off. has anyone else experienced this, and with which mice? if anyone knows of a practical solution to this, i'd appreciate it.

I don't experience that problem with the MX900 on a PB 12". Does the Bluetake use any special drivers? Do you have any 3rd-party app like USB Overdrive X installed?

i have the apple bt mouse and i can use either the trackpad or the mouse at the same time. i found that if i had any of those apps like sidetrack it gave problems with the trackpad use when i had the bt mouse.

i have uninstalled all trackpad software and they work fine together.

that's a good point, that i forgot to mention. i'm using sidetrack with the pb. i guess i could uninstall it and see if it still does this, but i would rather keep sidetrack and put up with it.

I've not heard of any problems using SideTrack when the BT mouse is installed, but I can't claim personal experience (I don't have a BT mouse or BT-enabled PowerBook).

If someone with the problem could take the time to run this command in Terminal both before and after uninstalling SideTrack:

ioreg -l

When you run the command please have the BT mouse connected and on (i.e. in the mode that causes the problem).

Please send me the before/after results at basilisk at foobox dot net. I'll look into it,

Thanks,

Alex

I have no experience with SideTrack, but when my BT500 mouse is paired with my 12" PBG4, the trackpad is properly activate or ignored per the system setting.
