I've seen a few screenshots in the GUI customization section that look like people are runniing an app that lets you minimize to a tiny window on the desktop instead of in the dock. Can anyone tell me where I can find a proggie that'll do this?

Been searching the replies, etc. in that section...no dice.

It is either a hack to use the old Dock.app from a pre-release version of Jaguar or the latest version of WindowShadeX from Unsanity.

WindowShade X is a typically-excellent product from Unsanity. The latest version has a minimize-in-place feature that's worked flawlessly on my system.

Searching out minimized windows from behind expanded ones can be a bit frustrating, though. It's a great option to have, but I can see why Apple left it out of Panther. (Did I just praise Apple for giving users fewer options? Oops.)

Now we'll have Expose to deal with the clutter. A better window management system than every solution before it, it seems. But I digress...

Check out WindowShade X. It's great!

The pre-release dock.app minimizes on top of all other windows, it's really useful if you're using photoshop full screen, and you want to keep a small browser window available - much more convenient than the dock.
