So I'm working on an old clamshell G3 ibook for a friend. But that's neither here nor there.

I have a Global Village USB modem, as the internal modem is shot. I downloaded the appropriate modem script, but so far, I can't seem to make it work with.....*sigh* AOL.

God, I hate them. It's like you have Fisher-Price for an ISP.

Anyway, I'm wondering what I need to set in the network prefs to make this thing work with AOL 9.0. I've already chosen the appropriate modem script under networking>modems, but AOL has two drop downs in its config, apparently one for the script to use and one for the piece of hardware. I can select the USB modem script, but there's no option to choose the USB modem hardware-how to I beat the little yellow cartoon guy into submission? Even with the USB modem script active, it doesn't seem to detect a dial tone.

I hope it's grizzly. I hope it involves the terminal, or even better, resedit.
