An anonymous tipster on Twitter has posted a series of images of what is allegedly Apple's iPhone 6 casing. The photos, if authentic, are thought to be the first such leaks of the next iPhone, expected in the fall. The case components are similar to that of the iPod touch, but have both what appears to be a TouchID home button, as well as the larger flash opening as seen on the iPhone 5s.

Using measurements from the home button as well as the physical mute and volume switches, the new casings seem to show a device with a larger screen, perhaps lending some validity to previous rumors of a larger display on Apple's upcoming device. The veracity of the pictures has yet to be completely determined, and will likely not be proven until Apple actually releases a new phone, but a retweet by reliable info source Sonny Dickson lends at least some credence to the images.

Other than the size, the case looks an awful lot like the original iPhone or an iPod Touch. If this is for real, it's a step back - way back - in time IMHO.

If they manage to take the screen all the way to within a mm of the device edge, they've achieved the impossible.

If they use it to increase the display, they've achieved the annoying.
