I'd get a cell phone and pay off a year of it, then save the rest. Or just save it for school money. Ahem.

I'd buy an American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS for $1,000 and a good 24 channel mixer for $500.

If I were 21, I would spend it on a trip.

Toys will always be there, but youth in a different country is priceless. Expand yourself...

With $1500, you could probably take a nice two week vacation if you were thrifty...

If you can get a good 24-channel mixer for $500, I'd like to know what and where, seeing as it's nigh impossible to get even a decent 16-channel board for that price (a used Mackie, maybe, which barely qualifies as "decent" IMO).

And if you say "Behringer", please shoot yourself now.

I'll probably be investing my next $1500 in a Metric Halo Mobile I/O Firewire interface.

Perhaps cigarettes would be a worthy purchase.

If you get the habit, that's about how much you will spend in a year or two...

or a Dell...

both equally worthless

Save it for something you really want or need. If you don't know how to spend it, you probably shouldn't. Maybe spend $100 or so on something, but not the whole wad unless there's something you truly want.

This is actually pretty good advice; if you don't know how to spend it, don't ask for advice here; wait until an idea comes to you naturally. That's likely to make you happiest.

This said, I'd probably blow it on a vacation myself. It's not all that uncommon to need a vacation and not know it. Sometimes, what we need more than anything else is just a little rest.
You are in Soviet Russia. It is dark. Grue is likely to be eaten by YOU!

Do you already have a midi keyboard? If you do then try the software based moog from Arturia.

IMHO, a 24 channel Behringer for $500 isn't bad. Behringer aren't bad for home recording, but I admit they are the suckiest compared to every other mixer on the market. If I didn't have my Yamaha mixer and I needed a new board and only had $500, I'd admit I'd get a Behringer.

I'm trying to save money to go the Firewire route also.

If you like that, then try the Reason demo. If you want a full 88 key keyboard with weighted action, then I recommend Studiologic.

I'd buy my girlfriend and I our prom tickets ($120). Get her dress/hair/makeup ($200?). Get a suit and new shoes ($150) and then buy a new iPod mini.

Otherwise I'm not going to my prom.

You're about halfway to a new hidef tv. Wait this summer for the next generation DLP sets and get yourself a nice 50" Sammy DLP. Hook your Xbox/PS2/GC to it and you'll be in gaming heaven. By then you'll be tired of that old whore anyway.
