Just as the title says. I'm not particular about cosmetic condition, so long as there aren't any major nicks or cracks.

Color Classic
Color Classic II
Mac IIci

I have an 8600 that isn't getting much use, if you're interested.

I actually have an 8600. So nope.

Just interested in the three I listed. Although I'd be open to a Quadra 605, as well.

I notice you don't mention desired specs, or even if they're working. Is this for a Macquarium project?

I do have a IIci tucked away in a closet, but shipping might be expensive from California, and I don't want to sell it into a lobotomy.

The Color Classic, IIci, Quadra, etc. pretty much only came in one spec unless you had the Cache card for the IIci.

Yes, I'd like them to be in working order. This is for restoration and for actual use. I have a rather extensive collection of vintage games that I like to play, but more than half of them won't play on my G4 with OS 9. I need something older that I can install System 7 on. Plus, some of my games are impossible to play on a G4. Pirates! for example goes as fast as the computer is, so I can't play it on my G4.

I gutted my Color Classic in a failed attempt to upgrade it with an LCD screen and 6300 motherboard. Unfortunately my soldering abilities were rather ghastly, and I couldn't get it working again. So now I'm looking for another vintage Mac.

The IIci would be used for my Mac games. I'd use the Color Classic or Quadra with my Apple IIe card for my Apple II games.

I live in northern California, Bay Area.

I have a MacTV in original box with all the factory stuff.
I think it about the same machine and also will tune TV(for now).
This was for a long time the only Black Mac.

If any interest?
It is just taking up space in the basement now.

No interest in a Mac TV, sorry. You might want to post your own thread, or try eBay. Any older Macs that still have their packaging usually fetch a pretty good price, especially rare Macs like the Mac TV.

I'll dig out my IIci tonight and check the details. If memory serves, the RAM has been upgraded to the maximum 128 MB (feel the power!). Not sure about the other details - I got it used, and was prepping it for a relative who lost interest.

Think that's enough for Dark Castle and Crystal Quest?

It seems I had packed things away ... ahem ... a bit better than I'd recalled. While the IIci was in the closet as expected, my ADB cables & mouse (mice?) are packed up elsewhere.

Plugging it in and turning on revealed an apparent bootup. Hard drive activity, along with a beep now and then, followed by stability after a minute or two. I hooked up an old VGA monitor via one of those DB15 adapters, but either the old monitor has a problem, or I was using the wrong dip switch settings on the adapter. No video output yet. It does have the 128 MB RAM, not sure if the HD is the 40 or 80 model.

Let me know if you want me to keep digging, or if someone else has a better IIci available. My IIci has a few minuses, mostly because it was never in real use. Minuses:

• No keyboard or mouse - I was using my IIGS peripherals to prep it, & expected to buy keyboard/mouse when it was all done. Project wound down before reaching that point.
• The Reset / NMI buttons are missing. The "real" buttons are still on the motherboard, but the plastic inserts between case & MB vanished before I got it.
• The case has some small dings.
• I expect the battery is stone dead. This is another possible cause of blank video.

Thanks for the effort, reader50. Might have to pass on that IIci. I can't restore missing buttons with my peroxide mix.

Have you tried any emulators? Aren't there some System 7 emus that are like DOSBox in functionality? Seems like that might be the better route to go...

I've done the emulators. It's just not the same.

Plus, there's some fun (I think anyway) in getting older hardware to work. Doubly fun when you get it working on a modern network.
