After installing the 10.4.1 update, all of my menubar items, except Copy Paste, have disappeared. Going into the control panels to re-enable some of the items does not help. If I click the "show in menubar" button, the item still does not show up. However, when I go back into the control panel, the item is no longer checked.

Spotlight is no longer working either. The menubar item appears and then disappears at random. If I mouse-over the icon, I get a spinning beachball.

Repairing permissions has not helped fix the issue. Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like you need to kill systemuiserver. Open the terminl, type "sudo killall SystemUIServer". Hit enter. Type in your password, hit enter again. That should wake it up.

Do you have any 3rd party menu items? I had these same things happen when I had iChatExtra installed.

Also if any external drives are stuck while mounting or unmounting the menu items freeze up.
