I am really really getting annoyed with damn project builder now!
I'm using it to develop java classes for my undergrad final year project and it keeps giving me don't know how to make errors on files that no longer exist or I have renamed.

Can anyone help me?
Some men see things as they are and say why?
I dream things that never were and say why not?

What's worse is that these errors still exist in Project Builder 2.0 beta.

I can't even work out where Project Builder is storing the references to the files that no longer exist! Anyone got any idea about this? Would at least save me having to create new projects every time a file moves/gets renamed!

Did you try to clean your targets? Sometimes this helps...

Tried and it made no difference. Obviously a bug.

Raaaaaaaa... Project Builder is such a load of crap. You can't rename projects!

Well, you can rename the .pbproj file, but that doesn't even come remotely close to renaming the project. Creating a project inserts the project name in about a million places throughout the project directory structure and there is no way of renaming it, short of going through each file changing every reference or recreating the project from scratch.

I think this has something to do with indexing, when the PB index files get out of whack. Try finding the *.pbxindex directory under build and get rid of that, or better yet, just delete the entire "build" directory (which gets put in your project directory). There should be a "completely clean" button to do that I should think... "build all clean" only deletes compiled code, not all the other ancillary stuff PBX builds.

The old PB (ProjectBuilderWO) used to let you rename projects, but it looks like that option is grayed out in (the new) PB. Hm. Maybe that's a future feature, as indeed it looks like a pain right now.
