Can anyone suggest a good music player I can use in place of iTunes? I hate iTunes 11 and unfortunately downgrading to iTunes 10 causes some pretty bad problems, like breaking the App Store and Software Update. Basically, I'm happy with 10 and would like something similar.

How about VLC? It can create a playlist and can shuffle the order of playing if you like that.

You can set iTunes 11 to show the sidebar, and it will work basically exactly like iTunes 10, except for iTunes DJ and the fact that the browser can only be set to the appear on top, and no longer at left.

Not really the same. One thing I hate is that Apple has removed separate shuffle and repeat settings for different playlists in 11. I can get that some people might find that confusing that they pick a setting, switch to a different playlist then wonder why the setting isn't working, but at least make individual settings an option in the prefs for those of us who aren't easily confused.

One playlist is worthless. I have too many songs and too many playlists. VLC is great for videos but absolutely nothing like iTunes 10.
