With the following exceptions.

Coffee cake.
A good carrot cake.
Jell-O key lime cheesecake from a box.
Ice cream cake. Cookies and cream that shit.
The band Cake.

I like a good birthday cake myself.

But I'm more of a pie person. A pumpkin pie? Yes, please! I like my pies either room temperature or cold. I don't like hot pies.

I'm also partial to those small pie turnovers at my local market. $0.50 with vanilla or lemon filing. Very good!

The cakes at the Cheesecake Factory are also good. Only eat one slice though.

While pie is inherently superior to cake, gourds also suck.

As do all cruciferous vegetables. Horseradish excluded of course.

Lemon meringue pie for the win.

Green vegetables are on Earth for the horses. Unfortunately, you may have noticed there aren't as many horses around as there used to be. Without enough horse mouths to feed, the excess green veggies had to go somewhere else. So they went to grocery stores. Mark it up, call it "health foods" or something, and sell the excess horsefeed to people who don't know better.

Indeed. A good moist cake (like my grandmother's scratch German Chocolate) is pretty special, though.

There's a French bakery here who gets a proper moist. It's almost like a mousse cake.

I wish I could still play Age of Empires 2. That was such a fun game on Gameranger. I used to be part of a clan there and battle other clans. Such fun.

I liked playing the Celts with their onagers.

AOE3 was such a disappointment.

For some reason Steam doesn't have Mac versions of neither that nor the infinitely superior Rise of Nations. They both had Mac versions back in the day. Probably there was never an x86 port. RoN is one of the few games of that era that I would really like to play again some time, and it would be perfect on the laptop.
The new Mac Pro has up to 30 MB of cache inside the processor itself. That's more than the HD in my first Mac. Somehow I'm still running out of space.

If I was to get into Mac gaming (say, racing), then what kind of controller do you recommend and what game?
Grid 2 and Dirt 3 are legit games and graphics requirements don't seem too strict, anything better than HD3000 graphics should be able to handle them.

Nothing beats a real driving wheel but if you don't want to dive in that deep, an Xbox 360 controller is a solid choice.

Racing is also one of the types of games that works quite nicely on iOS.

bad cake is bad. very bad - that WalMart crap is awful. homemade Betty Crocker bad cake can be good, but still bad in the grand scheme of things... All the great bakeries I grew up with are gone from my hood, replaced with hipster doofus artisanal versions of ethnic delights that are just horrible and over priced.

Recently resorted to mail order, still have to go to Brooklyn or Bronx for a good cannoli.

Despite my heritage, and an unhealthy love of Italian food, Italian desserts never took hold. Tiramisu is bleh.
