I am wondering why is my 15" Albook's nickname is "Q16"? is there a reason why the apple named some products with numbers as its nickname.

I got this information about my powerbook by this software called "MacTracker" It contains all specs on every apple created since 1984. You can download it from www.versiontracker.com and type in "MacTracker".

Anyone familiar why it's called Q16 or is there a url that I could learn more about its nickname with numbers?

Thanks.

I just downloaded this. Those appear to be the Apple internal code names, not nicknames.

Since it's meant to be Apple internal codes names, now, I have to ask this again, what are they?

Mine is temporarily known as the Yao-book .. but that may be changed since i just picked up my first ipod. I have been thinking of naming the iPod - "MyPod". If i do, I may rename my Yao-book to MyBook .. lol guess that would sound better if this was an ibook .. lol
