Hey everyone,
A while back I had to put my PB in for service because the hinge got so loose that it would flop around. And when the lid was closed, it wouldn't latch nor would it go to sleep (or would wake right up).

It was fixed fine, but now it is happening again. I don't do anything unusual with my powerbook, but it is my primary machine. I have never dropped it or carelessly opened it.

I realize while still in warantee I can get it fixed but is this a common issue? I don't want to pay for an Applecare warrantee, nor do I think it would be fair if this is a chronic issue.

You have one year from time of purchase to buy applecare.

I really, really, really, really, reccomend you buy it before then. If one bad thing happens to your PB over the course of 3 years, it will pay for itself.
