Last week I updated to 10.2.6 and started having several problems which drove me nuts. I wiped the hard disk clean and reinstalled up to 10.2.4 which I had previously found to be stable.

A few days before wiping the disk clean, I had been getting an error whenever I inserted a CD or DVD into my PowerBooks DVD drive:

"You have inserted a disk containing no volumes that Mac OS X can read. To continue with the disk inserted click ignore"

This happens with audio CDs, movie DVDs, CDRs, CDRWs.

The problem is that I am still getting this error after having wiped the disk clean and reinstalling OS X.

What could be wrong?

Help! I'm suffering from the same problem. Well... almost. I can mount DVDs and data CDs but I can't mount audio CDs. When ever I pop in an audio CD I get this error message:

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

Slick shoes?! Are you crazy?!

If this is with a PowerBook G3, then simply remove the removeable drive and then slide it back in again. That's what sorted mine out.

I have a TiBook 800. I think this is a software problem. Tried using my external superdrive but get the same message.
